Your guide and support for
a mindful pregnancy and birth journey
Birth is both sacred and ceremonial; it provides ancient roots that link us to the our deepest ancestral ties. I honor the innate inner wisdom that lives within you, and hold rich space as the birth realm is entered.
What is a doula?
The ancient Greek meaning of the word “doula” is “woman who serves.” As a doula, I provide continuous labor support to both you and your partner, staying with you through the entirety of your labor up until the birth of your baby. I offer techniques to manage pain and am committed to ensuring you have a safe environment that allows you to be at ease.
As you labor, you are free to be exactly as you are. You are free to take down any emotional or physical barriers, and safe to express yourself however feels right and authentic moment to moment.
why Do I need a doula?
Studies prove birth outcomes are improved when there is the support of a doula. The presence of a doula can offer:
shorter length of labor by up to 25%
fewer forcep and vacuum deliveries
fewer cesareans by 25-50%
epidural reduction by 15-60%
less need for labor interventions
greater satisfaction with birth experience
What’s the difference between a midwife and doula?
A midwife is a medical professional who provides medical care and advice. A doula offers the birthing person and their partner emotional, mental, and physical support throughout pregnancy and birth, ultimately leading to more positive birth outcomes.
